The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar Announces 2023-24 Leadership

During the Family Law Section’s Annual Membership Awards and Installation Presentation held on June 21, 2023 in conjunction with The Florida Bar’s Annual Convention, attorney Sarah E. Kay was sworn in as Section Chair for the 2023-2024 Bar cycle.

Kay is Managing Partner of Kay Family Law, LLC in the Tampa Bay area and is a long-time member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. She is Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Kay holds a master’s in Education from Worcester State University and in Business Administration from Stetson University; a Certificate in Special Education Advocacy from William & Mary Law School; and she earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law.

Kay has won numerous awards including the Family Law Section’s 2021 Alberto Romero Making a Difference Award; the 2021 Florida Bar President’s Award for Pro Bono Legal Service for the 13th Judicial Circuit; the 2020 Chair’s Award of Special Merit from the Family Law Section; and a 2020 Leader in the Law award from the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Additional Executive Committee members for the 2023-2024 Bar cycle are Chair-Elect Christopher W. Rumbold, Managing Partner of the Law Offices of Christopher W. Rumbold in Fort Lauderdale; Treasurer Aimee C. Gross, Managing Partner of the Law Offices of Aimee Gross, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale; Secretary Tenesia C. Hall, Family Law Attorney/ Litigation Director for Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. Notably, four of the  five members of the Family Law Section Executive Committee are Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar.

The Section also announced nine new or renewing members to its Executive Council: Yanae Barroso; Jamie Epstein; Barbara Goiran, Lindsay Gunia; Ronald Kauffman; Michael Mendoza; Jennifer Patti; Sarah Sullivan; and Tova Verchow.

Also taking place during the ceremony, nine newly Board Certified Marital & Family Law attorneys by The Florida Bar were sworn in: Abigail Morrison Cohen, Boca Raton; Michael Ray Goodson, Ft. Walton Beach; Autumn Lee Graham, Jacksonville; John M. Henderlite, Jacksonville; Katie Louise Harrison Kohn, Naples; Brittany Marie Pinson, Tampa; Kayla E. Richmond, Ft. Myers; Meghana M. Saoji, Fr. Lauderdale; and Michael Mackay Shemkus, Naples.
