07 Nov The Family Law Section Of The Florida Bar Makes $10K Donation To Four Legal Aid Organizations
The Executive Committee of The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar unanimously approved four donations of $2,500 each to four Legal Aid Society offices in areas most impacted by Hurricane Ian.
The offices receiving the donations are:
- Lee County Legal Aid Society;
- Legal Aid Society of Collier County;
- Legal Aid of Manasota, Inc.; and
- Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association
The Executive Committee identified the organizations in need and tasked Christopher Rumbold with personally reaching out to each to see how the Section could assist in their rebuilding efforts.
“One of the organizations is working out of FEMA’s temporary offices, as they don’t have an office to return to after the storm,” said Rumbold. “Another office advised that their written materials were destroyed and required replacement. Legal Aid offices around the state provide critical resources for so many Florida families in need, and we simply wanted contribute in some small way to help ensure that they were able to continue their important work.”
The 2022-2023 Executive Committee members include Philip S. Wartenberg, Chair; Sarah E. Kay, Chair-Elect; Christopher W. Rumbold, Treasurer; Aimee Gross, Secretary; and Heather L. Apicella, Immediate Past Chair.
