Achievement Centers For Children & Families Performs For Abbey Delray Residents

Achievement Center for Children & Families (ACCF) Platinum Steppers performed in front of a crowd of about eighty residents of Abbey Delray on April 17. The show celebrated music from the 1950s and 1960s and also incorporated current Step dance routines. The girls dressed in classic poodle skirts, saddle shoes and vintage glasses. The residents of Abbey Delray were so moved by the presentation that some were even brought to tears. The event was made even more special because one of the Abbey Delray staff members, Sandra Harris, the Dietary Coach for Assisted Living and Memory Care, who has worked at the facility for 34 years, has two granddaughters on the ACCF Step Team. Because of her weekend work schedule, she rarely is able to see her granddaughters perform, so she was thrilled to be able to watch them dance on Saturday. The program was arranged by Carolyn Kettle, an Abbey Delray resident, who has been instrumental in broadening Abbey Delray collaborations with the community and expanding volunteer opportunities.

About Achievement Centers for Children & Families
At Achievement Centers for Children & Families children are involved in Early Learning (Toddler and Preschool), After School, Teen and Summer Camp programs that help prepare them for academic and social success and inspire them to discover their talents. Our families are served through our Family Strengthening and Economic Stabilization services which benefit the community by stabilizing families in crisis; supporting them to serve as the foundation of their child’s growth. Family strengthening services are embedded within our four core programs of Early Learning, After School, Teen and Summer Camp. ACCF serves hundreds of local children and families each year from three locations in Delray Beach; Nancy K. Hurd Campus, Village Academy, and Pine Grove Elementary.
