Music lovers gathered at Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club for an evening of eclectic brass at the Vero Friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s annual benefit concert on December 3. The program, entitled “Classy Brass,” spotlighted the orchestra’s acclaimed Brass Quintet.

Guests were captivated by the exquisite sounds of the fivesome, which included trumpeters Jesse Cook and Benedetto Salvia, hornist Stan Spinola, trombonist Timothy Conner, and tubist Jay Bertolet. The evening’s program featured acclaimed works by world-famous American and European composers, including Roger Reynolds, Leonard Bernstein, John Cheetham, Victor Ewald, and other musical luminaries.

Following the show, attendees mingled with quintet members and Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s musical director, David Amado, while enjoying cocktails and culinary masterpieces by Orchid Island’s executive chef Chris Sozio and his talented culinary team.

“The performance was nothing short of exceptional,” said Orchid Island’s general manager, Rob Tench. “We are very grateful for the ongoing partnership between Orchid Island and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra as it weaves our community together through the universal language of music.”
