THE FAMILY LAW SECTION ANNOUNCES 21 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar has announced approval by its Executive Council to provide 21 scholarships for the 2024 Marital & Family Law Board Certification Review Course, taking place January 26-27, 2024, at the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel in Orlando.

There are 10 needs-based scholarships and one diversity scholarship, each valued at $1,500; and 10 scholarships for general magistrates and hearing officers, valued at $1,025 each. Interested applicants can submit online at familylawfla.org. Application deadline is Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at 5PM.

“We’re honored to once again have the opportunity to offer these scholarships to family law professionals from around the state,” said Sarah Kay, Section Chair. “The Review Course materials and live presentations by our highly qualified speakers are truly invaluable, not just for lawyers, but for our state’s family law judiciary and non-attorney professionals. This course is a ‘must attend’ for anyone wishing to enhance their knowledge and become board certified in marital and family law.”

The Marital & Family Law Review Course, presented by The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar and the AAML Florida Chapter, draws nearly 2,000 attendees annually. The intense, day and a half course provides an overview and update of all aspects of Florida family law, including alimony, parenting plan issues, domestic violence, agreements, UCCJEA and UIFSA, a comprehensive case law update, recent rule and statute changes, and other current issues.

Registration for the course will open on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. More information is available at https://aamlflorida.org/review-course/.
