Achievement Centers for Children & Families is Celebrating a Partnership with The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation

The Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF), which has served the Delray Beach and southern Palm Beach County communities since 1969, is excited to have a new community partner, The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation, who is helping leaders that build tomorrow. Their mission is to support and grow leaders that have the potential to transform communities. ACCF is thrilled to be among those benefiting from their commitment to community service and transformation. Grants are by invitation only, and they are to support civic innovation, faith, health, and leadership.

The grant awarded to ACCF is for their Early Learning Program, which provides needs to challenged families with critical services, such as affordable childcare and preschool education. ACCF’s Early Learning Program has earned high-ranking accreditation with NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Having support from The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation and other community partners helps ACCF sustain services and programming with high-quality staff, curriculum, nutrition, and care for under-resourced children and families in Delray Beach and surrounding areas.

Mr. DeSantis recently passed away, after experiencing a long life and legendary career as an entrepreneur in a variety of industries. He was known for his generosity and kindness, and The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation continues his legacy. The team at the Foundation are ensuring that his spirit continues with commitment to leadership and transformation in Palm Beach and Broward counties, as well as a special project in South Africa.

“We are thrilled to partner with ACCF on their important mission. Nurturing the next generation of leaders is critically important. ACCF has a long history of breaking the cycle of poverty in our community by ensuring that our most vulnerable children have quality early childhood education and good nutrition. When you visit ACCF, you can’t help getting swept away by the children’s energy and enthusiasm. It gives you faith in the future. We are also impressed by the passionate commitment of ACCF’s excellent staff. We’re proud to be able to help,” said Maritza F. Benitez, Executive Director at The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation.

About Achievement Centers for Children & Families

At Achievement Centers for Children & Families, children are involved in early learning (toddler and preschool), after-school, teen, and summer camp programs that help prepare them for academic and social success and inspire them to discover their talents. In addition, the Family Support Program benefits the community by stabilizing families in crisis, supporting them to serve as the foundation of their child’s growth. Family strengthening is embedded within ACCF’s four core programs: Early Learning, After School, Teen, and Summer Camp, serving 500 local children and families each year from three locations in Delray Beach; Nancy K.
