The Buzz Agency has the “Spicy” Courage to Storm the Stage as Spice Girls

spice girlsNo doubt. It takes a special kind of courage to dress up and take to the stage to perform in front of strangers. It also takes a special group of (zany, crazy, caring) people to do that for music education. Luckily for Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc. that special group with that unique brand of bravado could be found easily in Palm Beach County. On Aug. 26, they entered Nat King Cole Generation Hope first energetic Lip Sync competition before adoring fans at Blue Martini at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton. Among the competitors were The Buzz Agency’s Elizabeth Kelley-Grace and The Buzz Bellas, who took the crowd back to 1996 with The Spice Girls’ “Wanna Be.” Not just lip synchers, Liz, Alex Bimonte, Kim Kenney, Jill Pavlov, Cortney Hickey, Richalyn Miller and Danielle Quintero brought style and practiced choreography to the masses. (You just don’t wake up this coordinated, you know?) All of The Spice Girls were properly represented – with no less than two Sporty Spices and two Scary Spices! – a Posh Spice, a Baby Spice, and a Ginger Spice. While #TBA brought the spice, the champion’s honor went to Rebecca Brocard-Santiago and her spirited rendition of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.” The audience went wild for her red dress, shimmy and shake, reminiscent of the 1960s Ikettes. The other courageous ones included The Kayes (Bonnie and Jon), doing their best Sonny and Cher; Kristina Olsen, flash dancing to Irene Cara’s “What A Feeling;” and Jon Sahn, channeling KISS with “Rock and Roll All Night.” When all the syncing, singing and shout-outs were done for the night, the real winners will be the children who benefit from the music education programs supported by Nat King Cole Generation Hope. The Lip Sync Battle was sponsored by Pride Global Management, supported by Blue Martini and Palm Beach Broadcasting and is part of Boca Chamber Festival Days. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event, which was packed with lip syncing fans, will go to the nonprofit. #TBA is proud to be supporters of Nat King Cole Generation Hope and will be ready for a re-match at Lip Sync Battle 2016!
